Railing system

To implement the vision of containing light in glass, the AEQUILUX railing system has taken up existing technology and developed it even further:
By means of the symbiosis of glass, metal and light it has been possible to generate a homogeneous, luminous railing system.

But that’s not all:
Based on three basic designs, texts and logos can also be generated and made to shine homogeneously in the glass surfacing. The innovative AEQUILUX railing system creates a whole range of new opportunities in the field of architecture and interior design:

Railings can be designed individually to provide architectonic accentuation or to blend in with the corporate design of public buildings.
AEQUILUX railing system is oriented to architectonic rules, and lends an expression of design to the wish to experiment. Intelligent software is combined with innovative hardware.
The result is practical objects which pursue new design paths and enrich our lives.

The railing system

The worldwide unique AEQUILUX railing system facilitates integration of homogenous luminous glass in a pre-assembled railing system for the first time. Thanks to its standalone implementation, the system is user-friendly and easy to operate. The LED light sources developed for the AEQUILUX railing system, available in two lengths (300 mm and 450 mm), can be easily inserted into standard handrails system. The handrails themselves are not dependent on the lengths of the light source systems, and can therefore be generated individually in accordance with the length required for the railing, and attached above the glass walls. The railings, which can be completely illuminated in heights of 90 cm – 140 cm, can also be designed as fall-proof glazing, depending on requirements. The selection of floor profile and the glass thickness selected are then decisive factors. As a result of the components of the system and the wide range of functions, including assembly outside, the scope of use is almost endless.

The Glass

To achieve perfection when using glass as a light conductor, various forms of laminated glass are required, depending on the respective configuration. For the AEQUILUX railing system, lasered laminated glass of a thickness of 25 mm is used. Taking into consideration respective static norms required, this means it can be applied in private as well as public buildings. The laser patterns created on the glass surfaces are adapted to the respective quality of the glass, but may, on request, be replaced by a different glass compatible with the AEQUILUX railing system. The lengths of LED light sources used can form a total length of up to 10 meters, in a pattern of parts measuring 150 mm.

LED module

The AEQUILUX LED modules are specially designed for the lighting of laminated safety glass panels that meet the requirements of architectural design.
Highly efficient optics form the light of the LEDs into a beam path that is optimally matched to the glass panes and the laser engraving. This is the only way to create a homogeneous light image; The entire area of the panes is illuminated equally bright.
The integrated microprocessor allows precise mixing of the three basic colors red, green and blue into a definable white (from cold-white to warm-white) and millions of colors.
This allows a harmonious integration of the illuminated panes into an architectural color concept. LED groups can be individually controlled, thus enabling the illumination of individual panes or dynamic light effects.
In addition, the voltage supply and the temperature of the LEDs are monitored to ensure reliable operation.
In contrast to simple LED strips, the degradation of the LEDs (physically induced decrease in brightness and shift of the chromaticity over the life of LEDs) can be compensated by the adaptation of various parameters.
If an exchange of individual LED modules is necessary after years of operation, the replacement modules can be adapted to the light values of the existing ones. A uniform and homogenous appearance of the AEQUILUX parapet system can be achieved for decades.

Netzteil & Gateway
